Q&A with Tuấn 

  • How would you describe the academic level of the Master of Science in Data Science for Business, and how has it prepared you for the workforce?     

This interdisciplinary programme combines data analytics, machine learning, and business strategy to provide a comprehensive understanding of data-driven decision-making and its business applications. Throughout the programme, I had numerous opportunities to engage in coursework, seminars, and practical projects which enhanced my technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and ability to apply theoretical concepts to real-world challenges.  This included developing proficiency in programming and data management—key aspects of my current role as a software engineer—and gaining experience in collaborative, cross-disciplinary environments.  

  • How did you experience the student environment at the Master of Science in Data Science for Business programme?     

The student environment in the programme was dynamic and supportive, making it a great place to grow personally and professionally. Group projects were a big part of the experience and they truly helped me improve my teamwork skills, which are important in my role as a software engineer now. Working with classmates from different backgrounds allowed me to learn from different perspectives and gain insights into many problem-solving approaches. The programme also had an open and welcoming vibe where I felt encouraged to share ideas and get feedback. The professors were always approachable and happy to help whenever I had questions, which made the whole learning experience even better. It was an inspiring environment that I truly appreciated.  

  • How did BI support you in your career journey?

I greatly appreciated the support provided by BI. Career fairs offered excellent networking opportunities, and the dedicated career services provided valuable guidance on interview preparation and CV writing. Last but not least, the help from professors was invaluable—they offered advice and served as excellent references when needed, which made a significant difference in the process.
