Stilling: Kommunikasjonsrådgiver
Arbeidsgiver: NVE
My job is diverse both in terms of the subject matters that I work with, and the tasks. Although I work in a directory, hence non-political, our field of work is highly political, and very dynamic. I write press releases, do media training with spokespeople in NVE, manage LinkedIn-accounts and participate in field trips. All of which surround new topics day-to-day. This involves renewable energy and regulations, floods and landslides, glaciers and climate change, and international aid work with partner countries, to mention some.
NVE is a fantastic organization in terms of possibilities and personal development. Curiosity and initiative is encouraged, with chances to explore and develop within the organization, across departments. My leader told me: “You get the responsibilities and tasks that you choose to take”. Of course, I do have several primary responsibilities and tasks that need to be done. But in addition to this I can shape my own workday, and dive into topics and develop the skills that I am seeking. This is also encouraged.
I am a person who is very easily engaged, and likely curious. Career days and company visits therefore always inspire and motivate me. So did lecturer Mark Mansfield, when teaching me about authenticity and corporate integrity and storytelling. This inspired my master thesis. Traveling to Tanzania to collect data, interviewing cocoa bean farmers in the Tanzanian jungle, must be where I experienced “peak motivation and inspiration” during my time at BI. Little beats personal interactions like that.
