How BI career service helped me land internship positions

As a student at BI Norwegian Business School, I have had the opportunity to use several student services, and I can confidently say that the career service has been one of the most valuable resources during my time here. In particular, the career service helped me land my dream internship in Norway, which was a major milestone in my career journey.

One of my main goals was to explore Norwegian work culture, so finding an internship in Norway was a top priority for me. I knew it would be challenging, given that I had more than five years of working experience but not in the Norwegian market. That's why I decided to reach out to the career service in my first semester to review and guide my CV and cover letter to help me land a career in Norway.

CV and cover letter guidelines that I got from the career service session

The career service team was incredibly helpful, providing me with useful suggestions about my CV. For example, they suggested that putting my education before my experience could be more relevant and to add a photo since it is common in the Norwegian market. They also encouraged me to mention that I was studying Norwegian, even though I was just at a beginner level. This showed my motivation to learn and work in the Norwegian market, which could impress potential employers.

After revising my CV and cover letter, I started applying for BI internship positions in my second semester. To my delight, the results were positive, and I landed both a summer and a BI internship as planned!

I can't thank the career service team enough for their support throughout the process. Their guidance and expertise helped me secure my dream internship and start my journey in exploring Norwegian work culture.

Whether you are a first-year student or a final-year student, the career service is a must-use resource that can help you achieve your career goals.
