BI’s master’s in finance among best in the world

The Financial Times ranks BI’s MSc in Finance as the best in Norway and the third best in the Nordic countries.

“Being ranked by the Financial Times demonstrates the excellent academic quality and professional relevance of our Master of Science in Finance. I am very pleased to see our score on career progress for our graduates, where we are best in the Nordics and top 30 in world. This shows that BI graduates are in high demand throughout the finance sector,” says Head of the Department of Finance at BI Norwegian Business School Øyvind Norli.

The Financial Times Masters in Finance Ranking 2024 comprises the 65 leading programmes globally. BI Norwegian Business School ranks nr. 59 and there are no other Norwegian schools on the list. Only two other Nordic schools are on the list, Stockholm School of Economics ranks nr. 23 and Lund University School of Economics and Management ranks nr. 45.

“Our students can be confident that they receive one of the best finance educations in the world, and employers can be confident that BI alumni have the knowledge and practical skills to make an impact and drive success in a competitive global market,” says President of BI Norwegian Business School Karen Spens.

French business schools lead the ranking, with ESCP Business School, HEC Paris, and Skema Business School in the top places. Institutions from just 17 countries appear on the exclusive list.

The ranking is made based on 18 factors, including salary, career progress, gender balance, international mobility, and carbon footprint.

BI performs especially well on employability, with 99 percent of students finding a job within 3 months after graduation. The school also scores high on overall student satisfaction ranking nr. 17 in the world, and excels on carbon footprint, ranking second behind only SDA Bocconi.

  • Unlike the other programme rankings, FT’s Masters in Finance ranking is not included in The European Business Schools Ranking.
